There are many different ways to get disputes and arguments sorted out in all walks of life. In the normal domestic arena, we can simply argue across the table or room – hopefully getting some of our message across and eventually some form of agreement to eliminate or at least reduce the tension can be reached. These domestic tiffs can get very loud, emotional and difficult to negotiate, but on the whole, sensible compromise is the order of the day and life takes a slightly smoother path for months or years after any altercation. There is generally no need to recourse to the courts or other dispute resolution agency. In every argument, there will always be strong views on opposing sides and for all parties directly involved, it can sometimes be impossible to see the wood for the trees and pick out the senible points of the other person’s viewpoint. Tolerance and patience must be available in bucket loads!
