Careers in the legal services sector can be truly rewarding.  Knowing where to start is a difficult thing though.  You go to u niversity with one idea and then perhaps move over to law after a change of mind.   To get into a solicitors or barristers role,  you need to get  yourself a training contract and for that you have to know someone or be exceptionally well qualified.  After that you need to have a specialism, unless you do want to be a high street general solicitor, which is very varied.   In the forces there are another set of courts entirely separate from the civil side.  These include Summary Appeal Court, The Service Civilian Court, The Court Martial and Court Martial Appeal Court.  All these matters are presided over and judgment handed down by a Judge advocate and legal knowledge of course is upper most in these decisions.
